Plantone’s Italian Market Gets Set to Debut

Plantone’s Italian Market now has an opening date. On Dec. 14, the market and restaurant plans to open in the southwest with pizza, pasta, subs, and salads in a family-friendly setting. Real estate broker Glenn Plantone is behind the concept. Beni Velazquez is out as chef, with Francesco Savinetti, who previously worked at Sirio at Aria and D.O.C.G. Enoteca at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas taking over the kitchen.

Diners can expect to dine on the Angry Sicilian sub with prosciutto, capicola, soppressata, mortadella, house-made mozzarella, house-roasted red peppers, lettuce, tomato, onion, olive oil, red wine vinegar and oregano; roast pork Italian with spicy and juicy roast pork sliced thin and served with au jus, broccoli rabe or spinach, mild or sharp provolone and fried onions; pizza bianca with grilled chicken, white sauce, caramelized onions, grated parmesan and extra virgin olive oil; an antipasti board with fresh mozzarella, Italian ham, salami, oil-cured black olives, artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, and Italian bread; and classic desserts including house-made tiramisu and an old-world ricotta cheesecake.

The space features a patio outside and a vintage mural with Italian scenes and industrial touches inside. Wooden beams cross the ceiling above red metal lighting and classic subway tiles. Guests can order at the counter, choosing from chef-selected combinations or create-your-own options from an array of high-quality pastas, pizzas, meats, cheeses, breads and more.

The restaurant at Warm Spring and Durango has counter service as well as beers, including local and Italian offerings, and Italian wines by the glass. Children’s menus will also be available. Guests will be able to order both online and through the Plantone’s Italian Market app, with curbside pickup. The market plans to be open for lunch and dinner starting at 10 a.m.
